I. Chemical structure and properties
The chemical name of antioxidant 1076 is β-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionic acid octadecyl ester. From the molecular structure, its unique design gives it excellent antioxidant performance. The hydroxyl group in the molecule is able to trap free radicals, thus interrupting the oxidative chain reaction and preventing degradation of the material due to oxidation. At the same time, the presence of tert-butyl groups enhances the stability of the molecule and the spatial site resistance effect, further improving the antioxidant efficiency.
It has good thermal stability, is not easy to decompose during high temperature processing, can start to play an antioxidant role in the processing and molding stage of the material, and continues to be effective in the long-term use of the material. In addition, antioxidant 1076 also has excellent compatibility, can be widely used in a variety of polymer materials, and different resins, rubbers and other substrate materials can be evenly mixed, will not adversely affect the physical and mechanical properties of the material.
Second, the mechanism of action
The antioxidant effect of JADEWIN AN 1076 is mainly based on the free radical trapping mechanism. When the material is subjected to heat, light, oxygen and other external factors, free radicals will be generated. These free radicals are very active and will trigger a chain oxidation reaction in the molecular chain of the material, leading to aging, discoloration, and a decline in mechanical properties. The hydroxyl group in the molecule of antioxidant 1076 can quickly react with the free radicals and convert them into relatively stable products, thus terminating the oxidation chain reaction. For example, in polyolefin materials, when oxygen triggers the generation of free radicals, JADEWIN AN 1076 will preferentially react with the free radicals, preventing the free radicals from further attacking the polyolefin molecular chain, so that the oxidative degradation process of the material can be effectively curbed.
III. Application areas
1. **Plastics industry**: In general-purpose plastics such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and engineering plastics such as polycarbonate (PC), polyamide (PA) and other materials, JADEWIN AN 1076 is used in a large number of applications. It can significantly improve the weather resistance, heat resistance and long-term stability of plastic products. Whether in plastic pipes and plates used outdoors, or in plastic products such as automobile interior parts, electronic and electrical shells, it can effectively prevent plastic from aging, brittleness and discoloration, maintain its good appearance and mechanical properties, and prolong the service life of the products.
2. **Rubber industry**: Natural rubber and synthetic rubber products are also susceptible to oxidation during processing and use. JADEWIN AN 1076 can be used in rubber tires, rubber seals, rubber conveyor belts and other rubber products to enhance the antioxidant capacity of rubber, reduce cracking, hardening and other aging phenomena of rubber, improve the elasticity, abrasion resistance and flexing resistance of rubber products, and safeguard the reliability and safety of rubber products in the process of long-term use.
3. **Fibers and textiles**: For polyester fiber, nylon fiber and other synthetic fibers, JADEWIN AN 1076 can be added in the fiber spinning process, to prevent the fiber from yellowing and strength loss due to oxidation in the subsequent processing and use. In the finishing process of textiles, the use of finishing agents containing antioxidant 1076 can give textiles a certain antioxidant properties, so that in the long-term storage and wearing process to maintain good color and feel.
4. **Coatings and adhesives**: In coating systems, JADEWIN AN 1076 can prevent the resin components in coatings from oxidizing and cross-linking during storage and use, maintain the stability and fluidity of coatings, and at the same time help to improve the durability and weathering of coatings, so that the coatings will not be easy to fade, chalking, and peeling when exposed to the outdoor environment for a long period of time. In the adhesive, it can improve the aging resistance of the adhesive to ensure that the bonding joints can still maintain good bonding strength after a long time of use.
IV. Usage and Precautions
JADEWIN AN 1076 is usually added during material processing, and can be mixed evenly with polymer raw materials by direct mixing method, and then extruded, injection molding, blow molding and other molding processes. The amount of additives generally depends on the type of material, the application environment and the desired antioxidant effect, usually between 0.1% - 1%.
